Data Board

I wanted to show you all how I make sure that my classroom data is being collected each week. To be honest I have been terrible at doing this lately since we started hybrid learning and definitely need to get back in the swing of things.

I created this huge board using electrical tape and color coded dry erase markers. First, I decided what I wanted to focus on when collecting data. This can look different for any classroom. For me, I decided to collect data on: behavior, colors, numbers, letters, shapes, and binders.

I created small half sheets of data collection for recognition and printed them out. They are then stored below on magnetic spice racks from Amazon. This way we are able to easily collect data during the busy day. Once a students data is collected we then mark it off with the corresponding marker colors.

The half sheets look like this:

I have corresponding boom cards and flash cards that allow me to quickly quiz students on the topic for that moment. We then have a bin we put the sheets in and I review them later and put into a grade book to keep track of my students progress.

This board has allowed me to easily see what students need to be assessed for the week. The goal of the board is to get every box filled for each student by the end of the week or at most every two weeks.

I hope this gave you an idea of how to visually help you, your staff, and possibly students keep track of data and progress on goals in the classroom. It’s also super easy to set up and cheap which is a win win every time!

Happy Teaching :)
