Oreo Spiders

Every Friday in my class I take both of the SDC classes and teach cooking! On Monday my partner teacher takes them all and does Science, it’s a great system to add in all those fun extra academics you seem to always forget to do and plan for in elementary school.

To celebrate Halloween we made some spooky Oreo spiders and the kids had a blast. All you need is:

1 Oreo

4 pretzel sticks -we broke them in half to get 8

1 Mini Bag of M & Ms

It was so much fun to create this fun and yummy snack with all the students. I of course had some google classroom slides where we watched how Oreo’s (sandwich cookies) are made. Click this link to check out the video I used for the lesson. I learned some cool stuff myself too even.

This was a super simple and fun activity that helped the kids learn how to use some food from the kitchen to make a cool creation for Halloween.
